Course Description

Designed for audio engineers, musicians and sound editors working in film, television and music, this three-day course covers the key concepts and skills needed to operate a Pro Tools system. You will delve into elastic audio, automation and managing session data, using groups and additional audio and MIDI techniques.

When combined with Avid: Pro Tools - Fundamentals I (PT101), this course provides the foundation for both Pro Tools User Certification and the later 200-series of courses on Pro Tools music and post-production.

This short course will cover the following areas:

             Configuring your studio and session

             Controlling Pro Tools using external controllers

             Managing session data and media files

             Using loop recording and advanced techniques to record MIDI and audio

             Working with timescales and virtual instruments

             Working with Elastic Audio

             Editing and quantising MIDI and audio

             Using audio editing and file management techniques

             Applying editing techniques

             Mixing using sends, returns, plug-ins, master faders and groups.

 

Upon completion of this course, you will have the knowledge to operate Pro Tools in a home studio or semi-professional environment. When taken with Avid: Pro Tools - Fundamentals I (PT101), this course provides the foundation for Pro Tools User Certification.
