Library & Student Support
Library and Student Support brings together all aspects of generic student support into a single service, complementing the discipline–specific academic support provided in Schools, the programme support provided by the Academic Registry, and support for student and graduate employment delivered by the Employability Service.
LSS seeks to ensure that front–line support for students is effectively integrated with second line in–depth help from specialist teams, spanning the range from wellbeing and welfare to IT support to library and learner development.
LSS has worked closely with Schools over several years to embed learning literacies into the curriculum and is now repurposing the wellbeing and advice services to provide a more integrated support for Schools with student casework.
The library services for academic staff also support the University’s research agenda, including the repository, and in the case of the Museum of Domestic Design and Architecture (MoDA), research and scholarship at a national level.
