Best Interest Assessor (Social Care)

This course is only open delegates who have completed the Best Interest Assessor application process.  Please do not proceed with this booking unless you have been accepted on to the course and can complete the mandatory 2 observations of a Best Interests Assessor by the point of submitting the assessment for the course.

Course Description

Best Interest Assessor is an interprofessional 30 credit module which aims to equip experienced practitioners in health and social care with the skills and knowledge required to enable them to undertake a Best Interest Assessment (BIA).  Also need to be able to arrange 2 observations of a qualified assessor conducting two BIA assessments with different individuals.

This course is delivered fully on campus (face to face).

Taught by experienced lecturers, this course uses a variety of teaching methods and innovative resources to explore Best Interests Assessments.  Available as an intensive block course of 5 days plus 1 recall day.

By the end of this course, you will be able to apply for approval from your supervisory body to carry out a Best Interests Assessor role.
